We set up on Saturday at 10.30am at Fawkner Community House with excess produce from our gardens to share.
Update: Lots of garden produce, lots of people, lots of friendly chatter. See below for images and details.
Come along to share your garden produce, chat, to enjoy a cuppa tea or a coffee, nibble on some biscuits, and swap your local news, gossip, and talk about insights of living sustainably. Even if you don’t have anything to share, come along and meet and talk to other Fawkner residents.
We pack up at 12.30pm, so come along anytime from 10.30am.Best wishes to Brian and Colleen who are taking a well earned break from setting up the Food swap after their wedding ceremony a couple of weeks ago, held on the Merri Creek parklands in Fawkner. What a wonderful ceremony and occasion it was.
Food swap over, everything found a good home to go to. Lots of people dropping in garden produce today and taking stuff home. We had bags and bags of persimmons, lemons, limes, gourmet basil, herbs, various greens, all of which found a good home in the end.
Lovely homemade bannana cake and coffee or tea while we chatted to each other.
Just as we were locking the gates Councillor Lenka Thompson brought a tour group of council officers through the area to inspect the new football field development that is ocurring behind Fawkner Community House and other council facilities in the area. If they had of arrived a little sooner they could have taken home some garden produce and enjoyed a cuppa tea or coffee at the Community House….
