Can you Zero your Waste for a Week?

Take the Zero Waste for a week ChallengeThis year throughout the month of June Moreland City Council are asking residents to take the Zero Waste for a Week Challenge. The challenge is to not put anything in your rubbish bin but you can still recycle and compost throughout the week.

The first 50 Moreland residents to register will receive a free compost bin and the first 150 residents will receive a waste wise kit.

Sustainable Fashion Course

The Fawkner Neighbourhood House is running a short course on revamping your old clothes. In the course you will learn how to do

. simple alterations
. hemming (machine and hand)
. darning
. sewing buttons
. revamping pre loved garments
. hand embellishing
. machine embellishing
. tie dying
. batik

And much more…..

Sewing machines are provided.  We have 4 people currently enrolled however for the program to go ahead we need another 4. The approximate cost for 6 weeks is about $80.00. The classes run from 6:00 pm to 9:00pm.  We would love to have you come along.
